Vietnam's Phong Nha-Ke Bang national park has been renowned as a World natural legacy site by the UNESCO at its 27th general congregation assembly being held in Paris from June 30-July 5.At the assembly,entrusts from over 160 member countries of UNESCO World Heritage Convention decided to incorporate Phong Nha-Ke Bang park and 30 others global to the list of world heritage sites.Phong Nha-Ke Bang The most attractive features:The longest underground water cave,The widest and highest cavern entrance,The widest and prettiest sand bank and rock formation,The prettiest underground lake,The most miraculous and magnificent stalactite,The longest underground river in Vietnam,The widest and prettiest cavern and passageway.
Phong Nha-Ke Bang park is now the fifth UNESCO renowned site in Vietnam after Halong Bay.The Phong Nha-Ke Bang national park, situated to the north of the majestic Truong Son sort in middle Quang Binh region,is one of the world's two biggest sandstone regions.The above 200,000 ha of parkland contains gorgeous sandstone formations,grottoes and caves,and boasts green forestland wrapper 95 percent of the park region.
The area is measured a glory for researchers and travelers of grottoes and caves,and Vietnamese and British scientists have so far studied 20 with a whole duration of 70km.Of them,17 are in the Phong Nha region and three in the Ke Bang region.The Phong Nha fissure itself which provides its name to the total method is possibly the most attractive of all,containing many charming rock formations,enthralling visitors with reminiscent names such as Lion,Fairy Caves,Royal Court and Buddha.
Central Quang Binh province has poured heavy investment into upgrading the Phong Nha-Ke Bang visitor site to turn it into the country's major tourist destination.Every year many foreign visitors as well as local visitors come here to see this.It is nominated as one of the natural wonders.
