The Chocolate Hills of Bohol, Philippines


The Chocolate Hills look like symmetrically pointed huge infiltrator hills, all 1,268 of them unstable in size from 30 meters to the biggest being 120 meters in height. It is nominated for the New 7 Wonders of Nature competition



The Chocolate Hills are sprinkled throughout the barrages of Sagbayan,Carmen,and Batuan.In Carmen town,you can have a 360 degree view of the countryside from an examination deck in the Chocolate Hills compound which also has a restaurant,a hotel and a hostel with a swimming pool.The other approach to view the hills is from the floor of an important point in the heap remedy called "Sagbayan Peak" of Sagbayan city.It provides an unhindered view of the Chocolate Hills and the sea off Cebu City.At dawn or sunset,the sun transforms their darkness,making the Chocolate Hills such an interesting sight to see.During the dry season,the grass-covered hills dry up looking like nonstop rows of chocolate kisses,thus the stimulation behind the name.



Bohol boasts of gorgeous white beaches, but the Chocolate Hills is its main appeal. It has even been selected by the national government as one of it’s "flagship tourist destinations". It is a National Geological Monument by declaration of then President Fidel Ramos,as a mark Philippine magnetism and crown jewel.
