Five hundred fifty three kilometers from Manila, the principal town of the Philippines, ascends a near wonderful conduit volcano and one of the natural wonders in the world, the famous Mayon Volcano. Mayon Volcano is bounded by five municipalities and three cities with a total territory area of 5,775.70 hectares. Its regular form at any parallel trend made this volcano a truly attractive wonder. Mt. Mayon is the most lively volcano in the Philippines, proceedings showed that a total of 47 episodic eruptions occurred during the last 323 years. The first volcanic epidemic occurred in February 1814, which has sourced harsh devastation and the nastiest bringing cagsawa in a whole damage of the town and covered it to sludge, boulders and dust. One more critical explosion occurred in 1897 and the latest occurred in June 2001. But inspite of the rearing pressure faced by Albayanos, Mt. Mayon is still appreciated and accepted concerning it as their fountain of power and perseverance.
The region is plentiful with varieties of unusual and rare flora, some of which were listed in the Convention of International Trade of Endangered Specied (CITES), among them are the Nepenthes rajali usually known as pitcher plant and Cyatheaceae spp. or tree ferns. The scale to Mt. Mayon is in turn renowned among local and foreign mountaineers. From time to time, Mayon invasion voyage is being undertaken and sponsored by the Department of Tourism (DOT). Reaching the peak will take two days and one night with a stop over at different designated camp site.
The distance from Manila by air is about 205 decree miles captivating a plane to Legazpi City. Flights are available everyday.
